Genuine MacBook Pro 15″ A1417 Battery for A1398 (Mid 2012)
Get longer battery life and improved laptop performance with a new Apple A1417 battery for MacBook Pro 15″ Mid-2012 models. These laptops use the operating software: MacBook Pro 10.1.
This MacBook A1417 battery is compatible with the 15″ MacBook Pro Retina models A1398, MC975LL/A MC976LL/A ME665LL/A ME664LL/A MD975 and MD976. The model number can be found on the bottom of the laptop. You can also find what model year you have by going to the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of your desktop and selecting About This Mac.
Compatibility Note: Apple produced two MacBooks that use the A1398 model number. This is the internally located battery and is only compatible with the Mid-2012 MacBook Pro and Early 2013 models. If your original battery snaps into the back, this battery will not work.
This Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15″ A1417 battery is located inside the laptop and requires you to remove the bottom of the laptop chassis to replace it. We include two special Apple screwdrivers to remove the battery. The original battery is also glued to the chassis to keep it in place. Apply a conservative amount of isopropyl rubbing alcohol on the adhesive to easily remove the glue.
